Kernel panic during boot after upgrading to kernel 2.6.26.3-generic
I'm experiencing this problem with a friend that wants to keep Windows
as the default option. Because of this bug it is impossible to keep
Windows as the default, and also it means that Ubuntu is now booting the
wrong (old) kernel by default. This problem mainly affects those new to

Whenever I attach or remove the power cord to my Acer Travelmate 8210,
the backlight is set to the darkest possible setting. I then have to
increase it back to where I want it using the Fn key.
The expected behaviour would be to go dark when removing the cord and

CPU usage goes 100% when Appearance window is
I have tried compiling the 2.6.25 kernel and running with that under
Hardy. If it didn't introduce other problems too, I still had it lock
up within an hour of boot.
I use the directions from Negative Zero: Ubuntu: Kernel 2.6.25 on Hardy at
I'm in Hardy, and I've just downgraded dvd+rw-tools to Gutsy's version
(7.0-7). It solves the problem, now I can burn without problem.

uuid command works in two ways, either by specifying the root device to
boot from by the uuid number:
uuid
Please file one bug for one issue and describe exactly what you expected
