/etc/fstab, (as a cifs volume) for use with all apps, and as a Samba
share, (with login info stored in the Keyring) for use in Places. In

shutdown - i.e. everything freezes with 3 bars left on the Ubuntu
splash, then my whole screen goes white, and I have to force shutdown my
laptop, (by holding down the power key for 5 secs) every single time.

I worked around the cursor jumping issue by disabling hardware cursor in
the xorg.conf:

Oh, I should read the docs more carefully if I point someone there. You
are right and you do not have to try them.
Did you used a hyphen or an an equal sign? In the bug report you wrote
acpi-off, but if you want to use it as parameter you have to use
acpi=off.
But probably it is an not an ACPI
right, when you don't know if the bug is an upstream one report it to
the distributor, in this case the bug is clearly a GNOME choice and will
not be changed in a distribution specific way so either it's sent on
bugzilla.gnome.org as it should or it stays on launchpad only and will
probably not
Same here with DE and US keyboard switching. Whatever is the second
layout prints strange characters. Manual fixes work only until reboot.

I have solved this problem on hardy writing a simple server in python
that I added to my session autostart list, then i have modified cups-pdf
which now, after reading the configuration file, connect to the server
sending him the path to the output file. The server create and present

I already built the disk of one of my external USB drive directly into

But on Ubuntu, it only works partly if I run wacdump -f tpc /dev/ttyS0
parallel, but then its very choppy. if I exit wacdump it works for a few
seconds fine, but then it stops. I get sometimes parity errors, too.
