This issue is still unresolved. Intel driver still hangs on my Dell
Optiplex 745 on Kubuntu 8.04.1 with Ibex kernel. Using vesa driver as a
workaround helps, but is not the solution :-)

1) This happens usually only when a reboot is required, I havent seen it
happen otherwise.
2)One popup appears, repeatedly, over and over again. Strangely enough
though, it appears in the top left of the screen, instead of the bottom
right.
3)Sometimes I clack the popup, or wait for it to fade,

updated by choosing 'Rename' under the right-click menu that can be
summoned when the file is selected in the file browser. If I actively
make a change to its name (i.e. change it from 'test.avi' to 'Test.avi'

I resolved this simply by switch apt sources to intrepid and downloading
0.9.6 from there. There were only 2 or 3 dependencies that installed
without a hitch. No more segfaults.

same behaviour.
