and I haven't installed any updates today so I'm not sure what caused it. I'm

I'm having the same problem with a dell inspiron 1525 running ubuntu
8.04. It works fine until I do the updates, after which I lose the
soundcard settings (and it doesn't seem to know it's got a soundcard any
more) and the wireless network. I'm just about to ask DELL ubuntu
support to see if
this perfectly works on other chipsets, so this is very likely a
driver/kernel issue.
As I don't have enough ralink RT25xx driver knowledge, I'm reassigning
