I can confirm this bug. I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 and I get the same
'unknown function' error when I tried using exp and log. I tried sin and
cos too to see if it was a syntax error on my part, but they also
failed.

doesn't support RAR.
At least an option to install p7zip and its RAR module for un-archiving would
be nice.

Someone offered a bugfix. I don't remember exactly what was the case -- vaguely
remember that the guarddog in my computer was stopping me from connecting to lo
and that caused a lot of problems including evince not working and things like
that.
Close it, I think that it is fixed.

reproduce this problem (as you can see), even though I've followed your
instructions.
I've looked at your screenshot and it seems that you are using xfce.
