the files .grass6rc from my home dir and created a new grassdata folder.
Then I reisntalled GRASS from Ubuntu repository. However, I still get

bluez 4.30 appears to improve the recognition of my microsoft bluetooth
5000 mouse. on startup the mouse is available before the login prompt.
on hibernate, however, there are still problems. during the first return from
hibernate, I saw the mouse work, briefly, but the cursor would
not move.
adding to the previous, a clarification: when I saw the mouse move the cursor
on the first resume from hibernation, the mouse stopped
moving before finishing the password answer, and did not move after fully
resuming.

I have the same issue. Installed sqsh from the repos running:
sqsh -S dbserver\dbinstance -D database -U username
asks me for a password.
In intrepid, I put it in and it drops me to the CLI I can query the
DB.
In Hardy it simply drops me back to the shell.
This is a major problem.

Brian I think it is a strange combination thing. Kubuntu by itself will
run on the machine using the -nv driver with no issues. However the
minute I try and install in oem mode it fails.
However Oem mode in Ubuntu on the same machine works flawlessly.
