Came across this issue just last night and found the cause to be less
than insidious.
Seems that after I finished editing smb.conf, the daemon reloaded the
new file automagically. This is when the trouble started.
As it turns out, my new config had a typo and was specifying a directory

Upgraded to 9.04 witch has 180.x driver default and it's working
perfect. I did not manage to upgrade 8.10 to new driver, X did not work
propertly.
There must be as Alex Murray say, that there was a bug in older Nvidia
driver 17x that was corrected in 180.x

I have been using this old laptop as a server running CentOS for the

I've checked the irssi config, and it seems every time I add a channel,
the last channel in the row gets 'kicked off'. This only occurs when I
add the channel in irssi itself, so I've switched to adding the channels
in the config file for now.
It sounds like some sort of maximum was added in
