I had originally said this works in 32 bit but I was mistaken. It does
not work in 32 bit. I had not added the idmap backend in smb.conf once I
had added it I get the same problem:

My apologies it was the 32 bit computer which evetually read(after about
5 installs ) that Ubuntu was working in low graphics mode it installed
in the 64 bit computer OK beside the 32bit computer .

When using setkeycodes to set the keys, the keys work but the keyboard

VirtualBox OSE guest additions kills X-Server on Jaunty
I will try it out again as soon as I get back.
It was on the main screens that it wasn't working as it wasn't I don't
think I tried on other apps. I'll confirm this after.

I think you're not so wrong Eric, I also saw there is a stability issue
in the NetworkManager. But I tried to self compiled the compat-wireless
package from the 26th of february, and I've the feeling the stability is
a bit better. So clearly, things are going in the right direction.
