Hm. There is a reason why we don't provide Webmin in Ubuntu. It doesn't
work properly with the Debian configuration files. So it can screw up
upgrades...
If you installed and used webmin out of some third-party repository and
it screwed up your configuration files in an upgrade-unfriendly way,

/etc/my.cnf to /etc/mysql/my.cnf exists):

About likewise-open5 in Hardy, it is unlikely to be backported since it relies
on some changes in key libraries. The way of doing AD integration in hardy is
to use Likewise 4.

In Jaunty, when I use the applet to disable the system alert, the pc
speaker beeps (from eg the terminal) stop. But when I enable them, the
pc speaker plays instead of the nice Gnome sound that I can hear if I
hit the play button in the applet.

make a copy of the xorg.conf file that has the proper video card and
monitor configurations and overwrite the xorg.conf file in a new
install which doesn't properly detect these settings and the copied
file will work.

Upstream seems to be waiting for better steps to reproduce. But I'm
assuming kees and mdz are not seeing the crash again due to their
silence.
I've left my nullptr check patch aside up 'til now in the hope that
further crashes would turn up so we could pinpoint the steps to

I made the changes to the rules file that you suggested. IMHO worked
much better.
Both manpages have been created. I had a real problem with the
manpages. I would get lintian errors on the .deb but not on the source.
I tried several name combination which did not work. During the
Sync ACKed.
