this is a driver bug. you could try to install the linux-backport-
modules package for intrepid (not sure if they have an updated iwlagn
too there).
Also i think this is fixed in jaunty. maybe confirm that by testing a

My problem seems to have mostly gone away, at least on my desktop.

After recent (9.04) hotkey-setup update, it stopped generating acpi
events on my X40.
Any ideas?
I used to fiddle with /etc/modprobe.d/thinkpad_acpi.modprobe and passed
hotkey=enable brightness_mode=1 to it, but I'd rather not fiddle with
default settings of Ubuntu.

I'm encountering similar issues on a Dell M1330 with a 4945AGN rev 61.
Upon resume from suspend, if the rfkill switch was on at time of resume,
to get wifi working again I must rmmod iwlagn then modprobe iwlagn after
re-enabling the wifi using the hardware kill switch.

enabled (iwconfig wlan0 txpower 2 ; iwconfig wlan0 power on) but will

I make my machine to suspend either by closing the lid or by pressing Stand

It seems like this is not even specific to answers, but also bugs and
other places: you want a way for people to remove all data they posted,
which is not Launchpad's approach at present.
In practice, you can contact an admin through the link at the bottom of
any page and they will remove it. So
After upgrading to Jaunty and using the following compiz settings I
can't seem to reproduce the bug:
* Texture filter: best
* Lighting: checked
* Detect refresh rate: unchecked
* Refresh rate 200
* Sync to vblank: unchecked

I read that qemu 0.10.2 includes corrections that solve qcow2 images corruption
problems.
So I suspect that this bug is related to qcow2 corruption. In fact, since
reporting I had two more instances of qcow2 corruption, which I recovered only
by restoring a backup.

I've just installed the .deb from jaunty under intrepid with amd64 -
this fixed it for me. Previously the modell was not available in the
printer database, now it is and it works fine.
Perhaps the final could also go into intrepid-updates or backports?
