I am not sure what the upgrade was. This install is on a dell mini 9
and apparently dell has changed the update manager so that it doesn't
display what it is upgrading. Is there another way of seeing what
packages have been recently updated?

That update to libsoap worked great, stopped the crash completely.
Instead a warning popped up telling me I'd entered the wrong URL. It
wasn't the wrong URL though I just needed to update my network proxy

Alex I have a colleague who is very good in liinux, he took a look at
the current problem and said we should try to use a debug package for
thunderbird so the can debug with gdb and see where thunderbird hangs
arround.
I can not find a thunderbird-dbg package in kubuntu repository. Do you

configure whether Transmission should prevent you from suspending if
there is any active torrent. this works great if you activate this

With digging, I found the problem in /etc/bash.bashrc . A patch is

Is there a means to forward the feature request to bugzilla through
Launchpad? This seems to be a common issue, so I would expect Launchpad to

Please note by root directory I meant / and not /root. I did have some
additional inexplicably clamav owned directories, but the only one that I
can reproduce with the latest version is /:
