I think I have experienced this problem upgrading from 'hardy' to

nautilus is the filemanager and doesn't do file storing, your
description is confusing there, could you explain what you try to do

My system specs, btw, are: Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26GHz, 4GB RAM, Intel GMA
X4500 graphics, 64-bit Jaunty and Intrepid dual boot, and ext3
filesystem. The laptop is an MSI 1223 (i.e. no-name brand, I guess.)
