Update:
The warning tone can be disabled however this does not solve the issue
of why the alert sound playback is occuring through the motherboard
diagnostic speaker rather than a sound card/PC speakers.
Instructions to disable the warning tone (alert sound) in Ubuntu 8.10
It was working fine with jaunty but not with karmic. To resume the
plasmoid seems to do nothing at all now. Don't know if it's because
networkmanager has been update but the plasmoid has not been update to
the new API.

Yep, all plugins required are installed. I have tried the apt:// and
Firefox reurn me the message FLASH PLUGIN PACKAGE IS VIRTUAL. Any
idea?
