I've ported the patch from Gnome Bug 314235 forward to the latest jaunty

The problem with user_times variable is , it messes up the conky every time a
new terminal is opened, because it reports time's'.
If a new variable is created as current_user_time , it could just report the
tty time without the mention of tty .
Shall i file this feature request in sourceforge

Whoa, apport-collect sure collects a lot of stuff. Anyhow, I'm using a
Netgear WG111v3, USB adapter on karmic 2.6.31-4-generic. This problem
doesnt happen often, but seems to happen when doing heavy downloads like
apt-related tasks.

Bad news. I downloaded Karmic alpha 3 and installed in my usb drive, as I
always do.
More problems, but this time it's worse:
Gnome desktop just doesn't load.
After Ubuntu splash, the screen goes black with the loading cursor on the
center of the screen, but it stays there loading forever. I

Been away a while, but the problem remains as stated. I am shortly going to
install Karmic Alpha 3 and I will post the results.
Currently I have two versions of Ubuntu running 8.04.2 works perfect without
any mods and 9.04 which requires the fix
Oops... The internal audio is the ALC888 and just works. I thought that was
some motherboard 'beep' speaker. Sorry for this faulty bug report.

Hi i just installed
linux-image-2.6.28-14-generic_2.6.28-14.47~lp385477apw1_i386.deb from

Karmic Alpha 3 doesn't load desktop when booting from a live system (mine is a
usb drive).
After Ubuntu splash, all I see is a black screen and the loading cursor
spinning, but desktop never loads.
The USB drive LED shines a little, then stops shining three or four times
