appears to be the same one in Suse 10.1 (kernel 2.6.16.54-0.2.5-smp).
It is running on a SunFire server with 2x AMD Opteron 848 CPUs. This is

kernel

Is there a reason why NFS can't be set to use fixed ports by default? I
don't see a security issue because rpcinfo gives you the ports anyway,

I've tried both kernels, and it does not seem to have any effect. The
machine starts, then X starts into low graphics mode and a window opens,

Here are my last tests :
- recently-released evince Karmic package version 2.28.1-0ubuntu1.2 with
