OK, I have used aa-complain and aa-status as described, giving:

Same like #49, also win 7 and sony vaio. I just clicked about 30 times
on continue and finally could get the installation screen. So just be
patient an keep on clicking that continue button. Installation itself
goes smooth once you get to the install screen.

I can't seem to reproduce this issue with the MP4s I have. Could you
point us to an MP4 file that has this issue? Otherwise, could you
identify the codec used by the video stream in the MP4 file?

Well for me configuring /etc/hosts file did the trick.
(I also had the timeout issue on resolving the dns names)
I had to add alot more servers than the posters above:

This has been fixed by the grub developers, it will find its way into
ubuntu soon.
