PPA's package - I now see a dialog which allows me to select a (static)
playlist. The sync also works.

I think the compromise is a good one - I have just updated to the newest
packages in 10.04 and changed between the two themes: Human and
Radiance. Human had buttons on the right and Radiance had buttons on the
left. In the end I will stay with Human theme for the button layout, but
change all its
apport won't let me restrict access, demands change anything, I don't know
what this does in detail so I won't.
Besides, a non-techie-user will never even understand what he's dealing with
here, the bug report mechanisms in ubuntu need to get a lot more understandable
ans transparent.

I think it was supposed to change to 'hide rhythmbox' when clicked on
'show rhythmbox' or if there will be a checkbox for that? In both case a
rhythmbox issue as transmission have got a checkbox to show and hide so
this means indicator-application implements this. changing back to
rhythmbox

Can you please boot the system in a way it fails, then restart it in
safe graphics mode and run apport-collect 544088 to attach the logs?
That way it will include the old logs with the failure in it so we can
try to troubleshoot it more.

yep, same thing happening to me. bug report not usefull with crash in
2.2.2 . This happened just after upgrading to lucid.
