I think it's OK the way it is. clamd takes a lot longer to restart in
0.96 than it did in 0.95, so we changed the default to false (so the
clamd would restart every 6 hours and not hourly). Part of what was
bugged in the current packages was we didn't carry that through
correctly.

ok, i noticed in the system monitor that a process kept trying to run
'stop mysql', but mysql wasn't running (probably stopped earlier in the
dpkg script). If you're into this situation, run 'sudo start mysql' and

Thanks Anders. It works here as well (on lucid), and since maverick has
the binary identical package to lucid-proposed I count your's as
verification.

I am also experiencing this issue. Worked in Ubuntu 9.10, not working in
10.04, both 64-bit.

I did a fresh install of Karmic, but the sound seemed to work fine on my
machine. Same thing after I ran the Update Manager - the sound seems
perfectly fine.
Could you tell me how to reproduce the problem? Has it fixed itself?

Same issue here as Helge's. Behind a non-authenticating proxy, I get the
Upgrade button but update-manager freezes when clicked. Do-release-
upgrade stuck at 'Checking new release'. As always, ftp/http/https
proxies properly set in env as well as in Proxies.
