Same thing here. In OpenOffice 3.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 I can select DejaVu
condensed but nothing happens. I need this style to gain space on texts.
Droid fonts have this kind of look I need but I think that in some cases
DejaVu condensed can give the same results.

Steve Langasek, I've changed the kernel options at boot time as you said

A simple workaround is to disable respository index updates on startup.

When opening a Xvid avi file the Player suggest shearching for a codec that is
missing to play the file, fails to find it, and... PLAYS the file without a
proplet. Same this every time I open it.
This is not a fix but a solution if you want to use the black cartridge.
You can duplicate you printer and set its quality settings to Grayscale.
This way you have a printer for black and another one for color.

I now know what is happening. I had a large build system that failed if
/bin/sh pointed to dash so I set it to point to /bin/bash instead. That
is what makes the login fail. starting xinit then /etc/gdm/Xsession
gnome-session produces the following error
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session
I can confirm this, as I have the same exact problem creating a audio
disc while burning MP3 files to a CD-R.

But changing the brightness with the hotkeys still does not, although I
have halevt installed, the halevt xml modified as you have written, with
the brightness.sh path changed according to my setup. And sudo
brightness up and down manually do work.

Nope, there were some sync failures when I wrote this report, but
syncing works fine now (contacts do not sync but I think this is related
to #585530 there are no further problems, thought. By the way, I'm not
the only one who has this strange None in the upper right corner I read
about it in a

My ubuntu one is working properly without any error, however I tried your
suggested procedure and run ubuntu one again. It works properly, too. I should
examine the situation which I discribed later. After that, I will send the

I tried your solution, gst-inspet found xvid: xviddec: XviD video
decoder but it didn't fix the problem.
