I seem to have a queer version of the random freezes case. My desktop
freezes (except for being able to open a terminal through the keyboard
shortcut) ONLY when I use keyboard shortcuts that I have assigned to
control the volume and when rhythmbox is running. It freezes rhythmbox

Ok, I've read through this whole thread and I've got to side with the
pro-custom-timeout people. This is friggin ridiculous. Here's another

seems I have the same problem with a mbuffer process reading from a Soft-RAID6
from 24 SATA drives with XFS on it.
It's our backup system that writes everything (5.9TB) to tapes.
In the end the mbuffer stops with this error:
mbuffer: warning: error during output to /dev/st0: Input/output
HAHA! (small dance around)
I found it! Nothing messes modern linux up worse than not having the
loopback interface configured properly, to 127.0.0.1, also in
/etc/hosts.

I have the same problem. It seems that ALT-TABBING out of Firefox and

The Issue is the same with this kernel. The display is not showing any out of
sync message. It's just in power save mode.
Personal opinion
MLTerm is not a regualr GNOME application and therefore looks ugly and doesn't
fit well in the (GNOME based) Ubuntu echo system. Look at it's scrollbar for
example - it doesn't use the GNOME theme for drawing but use some old X
decoration.

That's a pretty ridiculous thing to suggest to developers planning to
distribute their code
If you plan to distribute something, you'll have to live with the
lowest-common-denominator problem, and cannot rely on implementation
details. Just like everywhere else.

Question, and I appologise if this is not the right way to address this!
Bug 356807 says that it is a duplicate for this one (373680), however, I
do not experience any latency in my network, but my log is spammed with
rt_ioctl_giwscan messages every 2 minutes
I got rid of those by removing -DDBG

I am using g_app_info_get_display_name() to look up the name of the app.
This *should* take the current locale into account. Seems that this is
broken.
I am not very knowledgeable on this, but it appears that the
translations are split from the .desktop files out
Can anyone please test this on karmic? Or should we remove the proposed
update, since it is unlikely to be useful (since we won't respin karmic
CDs)?
