I am experiencing the same issue on a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Li1818 laptop
and the internal touchpad. This doesn't seem to be limited to Microsoft
keyboards.

Any chance of getting this fix backported to Lucid? We have a fair
number of systems rolled out with this hardware, and trying to explain
the grub workaround to ordinary users is painful...
