Make sure you've tried both linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic from
the universe repository and linux-alsa-driver-modules-$(uname -r) from
ppa:ubuntu-audio-dev. Please note that you can only have one of the above
package dependencies
I am currently rebuilding with the patch below applied to see if that
will fix the issue. It feels very much like a workaround though, and I
fear that even if it does the job other problems might pop up elsewhere
for other people. Perhaps you might consider posting the original
patches to LKML

I have the same problem and it occurs in many applications where master
password is requires.
I have noticed that Ubuntu uses two different methods to show password window.
1. When the screen goes dark (some system settings), everything works as
expected, the password field grabs focus.
2. When

Just a bit more information. I am able select the text using Ctrl-A to
copy the text. Selecting by dragging with the cursor is what causes the
crash.

did a synchronize directory and tried to compare left to right on a
javascript file, using the standard diff viewer for Total Commander, I
got a black full screen command line

Verification for Maverick.
With 3.0.5 there no version at all in the history pane. Is it what is
expected ?
Looking at the code I guess so. But it is a useful information for
upgrades and installations of packages to known exactly when and _what_
has changed and this looks like a usability
I don't know if this is related but when using Banshee, if I minimized it
disapears to the sound menu, as it should happen.
However, if I click there, nothing happens.
I have to open banshee again from the applications menu or from the terminal to
go back again to the banshee window.
