Partly because after upgrading grub the old /boot/grub/grub.cfg is
removed, then grub-install called. Leading to grub installed without
loading /boot/grub/grub.cfg.
Solution: reinstall grub by issuing command grub-install dev.

I did first try my hand at a 'proper' fix, in two different ways, but
failed.
The patch probably won't apply 100% cleanly, but only because two of the

I installed Natty when the Beta1 was released. The login freeze occured

Right, implicit keyboard grab fiasco. The action only gets terminated
when you release the key in this case. However the upstream change was
rejected because it is too risky, so I'm not sure what to do about this
one.

A new update was posted to me through email a few hours ago.
This seems relatively safe from regressions: the only thing that is now
called for all cards is snd_use_case_mgr_open. It would be
preferable if this was proactively selected, e g through a udev rule or
through a module parameter

projects. In that case, the issue was affecting both unity and unity-2d.
It was fixed in unity, hence the status change and changelog entry
