I have a problem with wireless and broadcom on this laptop. I don't
know from programming so what I do is install Ubuntu 9.04 and then
upgrade it, a time consuming process.
The 10.04 LTS boot up tells you to install connected to the ethernet and
then go back and get the missing package, but my
gnome-panel 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu6.3 here and it definitely isn't fixed. The
result is the same as for Florian: the panel applet calls evolution with

This problem still persists after yesterdays release so I can't upgrade
to Natty at this time without losing support for my nVidia card. What
extra information do I need to give?
I've done some more messing about to see if I can fix the problem. I
added the x-swat ppa to my Maverick system to see

the System will not boot. I only have the grub rescue shell after the

In Natty, create a new 3G connection, choosing US and ATT, data plan.
The connection is created with an APN of Broadband instead of the
correct ISP.CINGULAR. The connection will not work until the APN is
changed manually.
This is a regression. It worked perfectly in Maverick
Ok. Sounds like the same bug(s) I have, stemming from power saving
attempts. There are two choices to fix that:
a)
The more conservative choice is to keep your supported ubuntu kernel and just
disable those power saving measures.
You can do so by creating an empty file in /etc/pm/power.d/ with

I have it working now. All I did is
I just removed the STA driver using the Additional Drivers gui, then did sudo
apt-get install firmware-b43-installer.

/usr/share/applications/vmware-user.desktop is missing which is
symlinked from /etc/xdg/autostart/.
After manually putting the attached file into the right place,
cut'n'paste and auto-screen-resiszing work again as in Lucid.

Package ttf-mscorefonts-installer is not available, but is referred to by
another package.
Any workaround? The only thing that helps is logout/logon.

Sebastien, it might be a good idea for LP to permanently archive old
bugs after e.g. 1 year, to avoid a case where people add data to an
allegedly fixed old bug. More to the point, I'm still wondering how I
ended up subscribed to this old bug, in a case where I had already
opened a new bug about

Ecryptfs never releases the lower file. That means that no inotify
events are ever issued for the underlying encrypted fs. This in turn
means that if the encrypted directory is on Ubuntu One, changes are not
synced until after a forced rescan or after a reboot.
