Same here. 64 bit install, 10.10. Initially failed to even attempt
upgrade via update manager (no internet connection despite having just
upgraded existing packages via the same connection). Then got a bit
window saying the update was available. This was more successful, and
downloaded everything
I have replaced Lucid by Natty and I found a similar problem:
The installation resulted into two swap partitions too.

Addendum: Interestingly package manager is now claiming I have 788
updates to apply (was all up to date prior to the attempted 11 upgrade
last night), but also claims it can only do a partial update, possibly
due to a previous upgrade which didn't complete... I thought it would
not upgrade
This is much more a gnome-orca problem than speech-dispatcher problem.
At least the gnome-orca package maintainer(s) will have better idea what
could start Orca if not the autostart file.

As far as I know, libappindicator is only required for Gtk apps, not Qt ones

Same problem with me too. I can confirm this bug too, in 10.10 and
11.04, when using kernel 2.6.32. The last ubuntu distro that works for
me is 10.04 LTS

Adam, thanks for testing, but your workaround doesn't seem to work for
me. Is it possible to use xrdb -load for a file that (apparently) has
already been loaded with xrdb -merge? Editing a file and calling xrdb
-load like you did doesn't change the issue for me.
