When I clicked Monitors in the Hardware section of the Control Panel I

@daemonx: I have the very same problem on Fedora rawhide, running kernel
2.6.38, so I don't think this is an ubuntu issue. (Fedora handles it
silghtly better in that it will not give me a completely black screen,
but actually boots up into graphical VESA mode).

I have got round this with GRUB_TERMINAL=console enabled in
/etc/default/grub. And tweaked my monitor settings to get the menu to

I had the same issue with googletalk plugin on a 32 bit system. Caused a
crash.
I looked into the script and found that this lines caused the crash.

I simply removed the link in /usr/lib/firefox/plugin

I purged libwx-perl and libwx-perl-processstream-perl, I installed Wx
from cpan and now perl load correctly Wx.so; padre also work well.

Thanks to Taylor (#16), i got my screen tearing-free for fullscreen OpenGL(9800
GT, Natty):
-enable unredirect fullscreen + vsync
-set refresh-rate to 60
-uncheck automatic detection of refresh rates (detection fails: ccsm says 50,
xrandr says 50 too, nvidia-settings 60, OSD of my screen 60 )
Fixed in Debian.
