Following up on the previous comment of mine. As I was closing down
google-chrome, firefox Tomboy with Thunderbird 3.10 still running, I
noticed the the dbus-daemon utilization had returned to near 0% I don't
think that the other Apps shutting down had anything to do with the the

I got it working. I just changed my username from Gene Satterlund to
eugene.satterlund and that did the trick. For some reason the username
has to be more or less one word instead of first and last name
I posted in lavinog's thread also as we are seemingly having the same
symptoms with similarish hardware. I tried a few things that I described
in the thread.
To make it short.
Does not seem to matter if I use updates from xorg-edgers, natty proposed
updates and kernel PPA, kernel 2.6.39.05.

I have an internal disk that is an SSD, and is mounted with SSD, and LZO
compression, it does not flag an error.
My external disk (USB 3.0, spinning disk), is mounted with LZO
compression, and does flag the error.

i'm using the shimmer version of gmb.
i have tested the fullscreen with gmb on unity (toggled with F11). If i close
gmb while on full screen, it saves the configuration and when i start it again,
it opens fullscreen.
But if i change the workspace(with ctrl alt +arrow), it still

I've more or less confirmed that metacity is at fault: I've copied
/usr/bin/metacity from a Lucid machine to /tmp and ran /tmp/metacity
--replace. This causes the Lucid version of metacity to take over. I've
not had any corruption with that version (it's a miracle that it works
with Natty's

Indeed this helps to get sound out of headphone. Unfortunatly there is just the

To clarify, the information just added to the report shows nvidia-
graphics-driver as not installed because I am unable to boot with the
driver installed, so I had to uninstall it to run the apport-collect
program.

You are right, the fullscreen problem occurs when the windows opens at
fullscreen.
But for the problem of this bug, it seems solved, when switching from
the shimmer layout to exaile and then back to the shimmer layout.

Binary package hint: evince
I generated a pdf file by creating a drawing with Bricscad and printing
the output with Cups-PDF. When I print this pdf file to the actual
printer with Evince some lines come out with the wrong width (too
thick). I'll attach the file tomorrow
