I need to run Python 2.6.6 but any Ubuntu upgrades need Python 2.7,
however using update-alternatives has been unsuccessful to work when I
switch to Python 2.7.

I have an Asus N53JQ. I added the following line at the end of the
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf file:

And the sound was working fine until I installed Windows 7 on another
partition and reinstalled GRUB2. Sometimes the spearkers are working and
Ok I'll update the description as well then, because it clearly said
'Unity' thus the confusion, thanks all.

I've found that in Natty framebuffer console is fonts set up by initramfs.
Also in Natty initramfs-tools framebuffer becomes optional since version 0.98.8
and you have to add undocumented option FRAMEBUFFER=y to
/etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf
to enable this behaviour.

For me having the l-m-c log available somewhere at the image should be
enough already to understand the cmd-line arguments that was used and
also the rootfs and hwpack files.
For a more consistent version ID we should have a file created by live-
helper when creating the rootfs, describing which
when i runbanshee --debug no file came and just banshee window opens

I'm sorry I'm wiriting too many comments, but I can't find an edit

I got the speakers working just by turning off the laptop and then
turning it on again (just restarting didn't work).
So, when I boot in Windows and then restart in Ubuntu, the speakers

I can certainly reproduce the graphical glitches in a standard Ubuntu session
with Unity, but swithing to Ubuntu Classic there seems to be no problems when
minimizing windows.
I have checked to make sure that I am running compiz, albeit with the old
gnome-panels instead of Unity.
