This used to work well (Ubuntu 11.04, previously mandriva) until I upgraded to
lubuntu 11.10 .
On the same physical system, obviously.
What I notice is hibernate sometimes causes the computer to crash. The
screen transforms into garbage after a few seconds into hibernate

I found that LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose glxinfo reports some errors:

I experienced this bug, and I have found a temporary fix (I use
Oneiric):
I don't know if it works the GUI way, but since I prefer the command-
line anyways:
-You Must be An Administrator on your local
machine
sudo apt-get
When you perform the above one-line fix by me, it's a good idea to close
all other applications, otherwise it might not update right, also, I
found a mistake, here is the correct version:
sudo apt-get remove banshee; sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install
banshee banshee-extension-soundmenu
later, if people like the app button, give them a consistent design
in maximized windows, top bar is close, minimize, maximize, app button,
title, indicators
in non-maximized windows:
top bar is indicators
window titlebar is close, minimize, maximize, app button, title

I just installed 12.04 Alpha 1 (precise pangolin) onto an empty
partition (sda7). The install discovered four users on my existing
Ubuntu install (on sda5?), and asked whether it should import those four
accounts. I selected to import all four accounts. The result is however,
I think you could be right about the update manager failing (can't say
because no crash page appears). In any even I don't need to reboot -
it just goes away!

Thanks for the driver on post #466. for over a year now I've been using
the imps hack in /etc/modprobe.d
With this, I am even now able to use touchpad indicator as it correctly
sees the touchpad as a touchpad and not a ps2 mouse. Thank you!!!

Using -playlist makes a very slight difference - it still goes into a
redirect loop, but doesn't show 'cache filled'. I think one _should_ use
-playlist for .asx. But it breaks both ways around, so it's still

Tried to install Ubuntu on my Asus Laptop.
Live-DVD is not booting except I disable ACPI, then trying to install
and while copying the files, I am getting an error with the notification
to post this error unter this URL (including ubiquity, think that says
the error happens
PS if I wget the asx file, and then use mplayer on the embedded mms URL,
it works, so this has to be an ASX parser/handling bug.
