Ok, I've added seagate disks, manually created partitions (aligned to
1mb), added the new discs to the raid, remove the wd discs. The raid is
now over two seagate disks, and the performance is still crap.

This version of lxc-start-ephemeral makes the following changes:
1. drops aufs (doesn't work on precise)
2. if COMMAND is specified, then, as in Robert's original version, the
container executes the command and then is destroyed. If no COMMAND is
specified, it waits until it is stopped (i.e.
Jordan_U in #grub suggested that GRUB should just not fail on boot when
grubenv is read-only. That would sidestep the need for these changes.
I'll pursue that option a bit. Ignore the patches for now.

should be fixed already but apparently something is missing.

Per Till's suggestion, I commented out a line in /etc/cups/ppd/Generic-
PCL-6-PCL-XL-Printer.ppd:
*%cupsFIlter: application/vnd.cups-pdf 0 foomatic-rip
error_log_2 shows the error log when printing from this method.
This also seems to give me an error when printing.
