Sebastien, some wallpaper entries in the 'Picture Folder' (System
Settings → User Interface) set the 'picture-uri' key to
'file:///home/user/Pictures/wallpaper_filename', which is readable
and will be used by unity-greeter.
So either that shouldn't happen, or the other wallpapers should work
too.

it is enabled for me but when I either try the key combination or move
out of the window, the window does not become translucent, as would be

not sure it's reproducible. I'd suggest the bug can be closed in some

No matter what, a HP zv6000 with a broadcom 4318 chipset will not work

I might be a bit naive here, but couldn't you simply always lock the
screen on suspend in Unity is being run, and always respect the lock
screen option if a gnome-shell session is being run?

Having the Same Issue (E6510) with 3.0.15, Display does not turn on if
booted in Docking Station with Lid closed.
If the lid is open at boot time and closed at display manager login
screen it works.
