there's almost as many of those as there are Firefox users.
Chrome/Chromium isn't installed by default on Ubuntu, however Firefox is.
So adding a Firefox icon would give a better out-of-the-box
gnome-globalmenu could display menus from both user and suid
applications.
unfortunately it only worked with gtk applications, but maybe there's
something in the code that could be applied to indicator-appmenu.

We're hoping to [very soon] retire the old EC2 mirror infrastructure and
replace it with mirrors backed by S3 [1].
When they go live, the rollover will be transparent to the user, but right
now you can selectively choose the S3 mirrors, which should provide better
uptime and speed.

Kees, I know that this is only a workaround and not a proper fix. But as
upstream is pretty inactive at the moment I don't think another solution
is likely to come soon.

my external USB 2.0 2tb hdd mounts w/ ro access...
my workaround is to boot into kubuntu if on my netbook to transfer
files, or if on my desktop 2 boot into one of many other Linux distros I
use often such as Linux mint, AVlinux, pinguy, peppermint,...etc...
