As I said earlier, this problem is clearly linked to power management.

iwconfig wlan0 power off
and the problem is gone!
So it's probably a kernel issue.

About the renaming issue, I wouldn't call it a bug, at least not in the code,
it's more like just a case that needs handling, the ftp protocol it self - i
think- doesn't check if the destination file exists or not, it's the ftp
client's job to make sure that the file doesn't exist before

Nautilus restart
Hmm, having trouble reproducing this now after another clean install.
Searching fine and no freezing. If no one else sees this, it can
probably be closed.

The GPU initialization routine doesn't seem to 0 out its memory. Our
best bet is probably to figure out how we can initialize the framebuffer
contents earlier. (Im looking at you lightdm)

This has just happened to me on 12.04 which is fully up to date except
for todays updates (04/03/2012).
I closed the software Centre by clicking the close button and got no
response. so, I clicked again and the Software Centre closed but then
the Closed unexpectedly message appeared and apport
