working before doing the install.

Yes I understand that gnome-desktop-item-edit should be part of another

simply separating gnome-desktop-item-edit and gnome-panel (just like

I planned on making this public at some point but not now! I've only
seen this when converting DE's. It's nothing for Canonical's
I am not sure I understand this completely, but for the spurious fault there is
a comment in the code saying that virtualization instructions may fail if
turned off after reboot but processes using them. Not sure this means reboot of
guest or host and if host how processes may use them still...
Sounds like an issue in the broadcom driver.
