I ran into the exact same problem after updating my Kubuntu 12.04 laptop
to 13.10. The password is there in the connection settings, but KDE
Daemon pops up asking for the password over and over. Connection drops
all the time with that, too. I ended up having to remove network-manager
and
G - when everything does work, the installing bootloader phase takes so damn
long (without any indication whatsoever of the percentage of completion) that
you may think it's stuck.
And so does the creating etx2 filesystem in persistence file phase.

could anyone point me to the dual head bug on the amd site? and, did

When installing Xubuntu with full disk encryption and passwords with special
characters it is not possible to login. The password is input before selecting
keyboard-layout, and is not viewable. As a result I had to install three times:
First I could not log in - wrong
I installed the GTK libraries from Debian SID in Ubuntu 13.10, and still
failed, while in Debian SID the same version of Glade works fine, so I
suspect that the bug is not in GTK itself.

There are two reverse-dependencies:
ogre
ember
Both of which are requested to be removed from debian:
ogre is superseeded by ogre-1.9
and
ember hasn't been ported to ogre-1.9
So options are to remove all three
