Thanks for filing this one. Had a conversation about this one on the DC
sprint and it was agreed to change the SIM PIN authentication.
Just to sum up: If we reforge the authentication screen into a similar dialog
as we currently have for WiFi password input, then it can sit basically
anywhere

Went to the Timezone settings page to set TZ to Paris, FR. The GPS

Booted into 3.16.0-24-generic which was the kernel before the current
kernel and problem occurred, the wi-fi disconnected.
This problems started the day after updates were run on 13th November
2014 when the wi-fi disconnection started.
I don't think it is a kernel problem.

I have suffered under the same problem, running 12.10, 13.10 now
14.04. I just tried your patches, Matthew, they appeared to work. I
only rebooted once, however. I'll test some more later.
