also got the nasty noise issue.
echo options snd-hda-intel snoop=0 /etc/modprobe.d/fix-sound-intel97

separate /boot, swap and /tmp. everything seems to run ok, and after
reboot, grub works ok (except that one has to make fast boot = 0,

This means the problem could be a syndaemon that forgets to re-enable
tapping? Will disable syndaemon and if that fixes the problem re-assign
the bug to this program, then.

HP Proliant Serverrs - DL360
What is your question? I can suspend/resume with this old computer with
this stick inserted but not in playing mode, but I can't install a newer
Ubuntu release on it.
