Are you sure this is fixed, because I'm on Xubuntu 14.04 and this still
happens. It locked the cursor to the top of the screen and made all my
programs permanently 90% transparent. Removing xserver-xorg-input-
joystick has no effect.

On Ubuntu Touch so far (vivid, mid-March 2015), it is still necessary to
unlock the screen after it shuts off, even if the screen was only off
for a few seconds. This is inconvenient, and it would be much easier if
the lock didn't activate for ~10 seconds after the screen

systemd means that the behavior of casper on shutdown (a sysv init
script) isn't maintained.

Whenever I try open a .kdbx file I am told the Master password is out of
date and needs to be updated. I do this and save the file, but when I
reopen the file the same message is delivered.

So the patch looks innocent enough. I assume this is for LibreOffice
4.4/vivid -- not earlier, right? And LibreOffice 4.5/w-series has the
patch upstream already.
And just to clarify: This is just about this small patch, you are fine
with the media (the icons themselves) as they are on the 4.4
