Answer 5 years later (!), but yes. Only needed to install the fiirmware
(and have done so again with 14.04.2). For my sound card, where I
bug 1431650 fixed multipath-tools (0.4.9-3ubuntu11), can you re-test with the
latest version of that package and see if this is still an issue.
