Ok, for some unknown reason I downloaded
nuntium_0.1+14.10.20141013-0ubuntu1 instead of the last version. Weird,
because I did it in arale so it is vivid. apt-get source nuntium gives
me now 1.4-0ubuntu6. I did apt-get build-dep nuntium and used the
installed go, which seems to be gogcc.
Anyway,
In onc case, I had a unity panel service crash, in another a crush in
the hud and in compiz. Will upload crash files shortly.

The system is working now. I have been taking backups on the external
drive connected to the 4-port hub it since yesterday. The backup (a
large one) ran for several hours until late at night without a hitch.
Since this morning the system has booted fine and has not shown any sign
of crashing.
Tested this x-x-v-intel 2:2.99.910-0ubuntu1.6 in my problematic Braswelll,
and it does fix the promotion video playback issue.
Also tested with other functions like rotation and external monitor,
they all work well.

I experienced the same issue as Marcin described after updating from
14.10 on my Thinkpad T420.
In order to solve it I had to manually remove all nvidia-* packages and
install nvidia-346. Not a big deal for anyone somehow comfortable with a
shell but probably a show stopper for some other users.

This is a zeitgeist bug so we have to see whether we get more
information from the zeitgeist service itself, could even be an corrupt
database.
So when you have this error that the database is locked, keep Diodon running
and run the following command:
zeitgeist-daemon --replace --log-file zg.log
The same is true for the metric system. Ubuntu touch thinks that everyone who
speaks English, calculates their distance in miles / feet / whatever unit from
the stone age.

I can't believe this very important functionality has been removed and
there is no alternative solution given for reading the
/etc/network/interfaces file (except reboot)
Ifconfig solution doesn't read the configuration files. It is
unacceptable.
There must be a script that reads this file.

I observed the same symptom in nova master (March/April of 2015).
Unfortunately I couldn't figure out the exact steps to reproduce this
issue.
