Infact, I wouldn't call it a bug, but GNS3 0.8.7 (available in Ubuntu
Repositories) is quite out dated.
The new versions have far more features and stability.
Kindly make the package for GNS3 version 1.3.2 available at

There's so many different ways to get the password in the mount.cifs.c
sources that I wouldn't be surprised if one path works fine while
another path fails this way.

Still the same problem for me on 3.16.0-37-generic after a fresh
install. (But at least now I'm able to boot)
Easily reproducible by opening up Google maps, all text becomes garbled.
Other programs that require slight 3d rendering also cause this issue.

(not mainline).
Just to clarify, you don't have to apport-collect further unless
specifically asked to. Also, if you apport-collect with a mainline
kernel, it produces garbage information.
