I don't remember if it was working with 13.04 or even 13.10...

When you boot a kernel that has qeth drivers (core, l2 and l3) compiled into
the kernel as opposed to as modules, network interfaces fail to come up. E.g if
you have this configuration:
Replacing the adding_media_role_property.patch with the new one does not
apply unfortunately:
