I think the patch is right and therefore I'm willing to put it into zesty as
being a dev release in development.
That will also give us more coverage if there is anything we might have missed.

Luckly the compat function on Trusty was correct on pc_compat_2_0 which
might be the reason this works for the trusty type in my tests so far.

printers. I've tried removing authentication in cupsd.conf, this works
for the CUPS interface. But not from 'Printers' in system settings. So

The same issue ocurred, but under another usecase.
This time the laptop was NOT after the sleep state. The issue occurred afer a
few minutes of the idle state so as the display was automatically shut down,
but without the sleep state. Also this time an external monitor has been
pluggen in
This was fixed in 5.7.15-0ubuntu1 and Yakkety was released with
5.7.15-0ubuntu2, so this confirms that Yakkety was never released with
this bug and that it affects Xenial only.

I can confirm that using 4.4.0-47.68 version has resolved the autofs
problem.

during a lockdown, nothing but the dialer app should be shown

Again, avila's kernel is pretty outdated, and its user namespace support
is so poor that it's actually mis-behave on a certain security related
operations.
In security/commoncap.c, function cap_prctl_drop, it should check
`ns_capable(...)`, not just `capable(...)`. See
