This workaround has seemingly fixed the issue for me (temporarily)
- Unpair the headphones from the USB adapter using the Bluetooth Manager
application
- sudo service bluetooth restart
- Pair headphones again and choose A2DF from Sound settings.
This has worked for me without fail

containing special characters in their names. When I created a file named
[.txt
on the desktop and rearranged its place, the settings reset again after reboot.
