Fixed in the 4.0-3 upload to Debian Unstable by adding a NEWS.Debian
file. Now the package just needs to be synced to Ubuntu to fix this in

Launch Ubuntu Software click on Updates then click on Refresh on top

Unfortunately I have to revise what I said. The bug does still exists in 4.13.
There is however the difference that with the 4.10 kernel it always exists,
whereas in 4.13 it sometimes happens and sometimes correctly switches to analog
audio. I haven't found yet any pattern when it happens.

I don't have any specific steps, since I wasn't able to trigger this
issue locally. I don't know what we do in this case because the crash
reports do show it occurring and the fix is clear.
