I could not replicate for my latest photos this evening what I reported

legacy bios on Huawei server (VGA card is SM750 which was embedded in

I have the same error occurring when trying to decrypt a removable USB
drive. Though the same machine is running on a LUKS+LVM encrypted system
disk without having any issues at all.

nouveau is in use. And historically, this isn't surprising. Nouveau has
occasionally had such missing textures bugs like this over the years.
Please try installing the Nvidia proprietary driver if you haven't
already:

I just want to reiterate that, as mentioned by Stuart Bishop in Comment
#8 above, this bug also affects the Ubuntu Live USB/CD.
I've been using an Ubuntu Live USB for accessing LUKS volumes on my
systems for years. I hope that the Ubuntu 18.04 Live USB continues to

Before kernel 4.11 CONFIG_DEBUG_RODATA depended on CONFIG_KERNEL_DEBUG
being set, and the 4.4 linux-kvm kernel does not set this option (I
assume in the name of performance). I'm therefore fixing up the qrt
testcase to not fail in this situation, but only for pre-4.11 kernels.
For kernels based on
running unbuntu 18.04 upgraded from 17.10 (do-release-updrade -d)
and it seems that everytime I
sudo apt update, sudo apt upgrade, reboot... I get this error (plymouth)
i am running mythtv frontend, which is set to auto-start after login.
