I've experienced this bug in a clean install of 18.04 via the server
edition first then adding a GUI. In the past editing
/etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and setting managed=true was the
solution,
"in the updates pocket"...wouldn't know how to try because I don't know
to what "pocket" refers. I use aptitude to update the available
packages (u), then apply any available package updates (U then g and

I had the same issue while setting up a dual boot with Windows 10 on an
ASUS ZenBook UX430UA-DH74. After installing Ubuntu and rebooting I was
presented with the grub command prompt. Removing Ubuntu and reinstalling

I installed a fresh copy of Ubuntu 18.04 and everything seems to work
fine, till I suspended and resumed the laptop. After resume, the wifi is
hard blocked is rfkill. Reinstalling drivers, different drivers, nothing
helped. All this was done under Secure Boot disabled under
Verified with unattended-upgrades 1.1ubuntu1.18.04.1.
