the last file is played it is not added to the the "Recent"

However, if you install gaupol without also installing mpv, gaupol is
unable to play videos.
If you attempt to do so, it displays a dialogue saying "/bin/sh: mpv not
found", which is going to baffle the users.

The workaround above (gfx.webrender.all = true) does help a bit, but
