I see that this is a really old bug. But I am seeing something recently
that is odd. I have bash functions that have worked for _years_ to set
the title using the ESC ] 2 ; blah BEL sequence. And what I see now is
that in a particular xterm they work for a while, and then stop working.

I tried on a QA-installed Lubuntu 20.04. Slack appears in menu after

Opened qterminal, `snap install slack --classic`, and "Slack" option
appears in menu. System was installed yesterday; 2020-03-27 ISO as shown
in /etc/apt/sources.list. No `gdm3` is in use as Lubuntu uses `sddm`

Any solution to this that doesn't involve building from source? I have
this problem in Ubuntu 19.10. Openconnect works fine in 18.04, but I get
a TLS error in anything newer.

version (bug 1869441), note that it would have also been possible to backport
the mstreg command (and supporting infrastructure) to bionic's 4.8 version. See:
