I've created a C program (attached) which demonstrates the issue. It can
be compiled using the following command:
gcc dnsadtest.c -lresolv
This command generates an executable called "a.out".
If I run a.out on Ubuntu 18.04 (bionic) I get the following output:

The oem project is waiting for the fix while upstream has no final
solution. How about we merge this fix as ubuntu specific part first,
once upstream has a solution, let's revert this fix and apply the
upstream's one？

Thanks for the debdiffs!
The contents look good to me (versioning, dep3 headers)
except that the patch sequence number is missing, and
the changelog lacks a brief description of it.
I just fixed those minor things up, and verified all
debdiffs apply cleanly, quilt push -a applies

Simple Scan cannot find the Canon MF731C/733C multi-function
printer/copier/scanner.
The same computer prints to the Canon MF731C/733C without issue.
If I make an entry in pixma.conf specific to the MF731C/733C, XSANE
